A working environment committee (AMU) for Mobil employees was established on Statfjord A, as required under Norway’s Working Environment Act, in early June 1978.

The operator then had 184 of its own personnel on the platform at that time. Its AMU comprised four representatives from the company and four from the Statfjord Workers Union (SaF).

An AMU was also established for personnel employed by contractor Brownaker, which had no less than 1 919 people at work on the platform at the time.
