New SAR helicopter
These include Snorre, Gullfaks, Tordis, Vigdis, Kvitebjørn and Visund as well as Statfjord. Also covering nearby British installations, the machine replaced an older Bell helicopter. The SAR helicopters stationed on Statfjord B have usually been used as ambulances for flying people to hospital, and to assist the joint rescue coordination centre (JRCC) in such jobs as searching for and assisting fishing vessels.
